David Russell Tullock is the publisher of Parson's Porch Book Company.
Until his retirement from church work in 2010, David was known as Rev. Dr. David Russell Tullock, Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He was ordained by a congregation of Baptists in April 1983. Prior to 1983, David served as Sunday School teacher, Janitor, Pianist, Organist, Music Director, and Youth Director through high school, college and seminary. Since 1983 he served churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia., representing three denominations.
After publishing a festschrift for his mentor and friend, John Killinger, in 2008, he was encouraged to begin a publishing company which was simple for authors to use. So he did. Publishing became his sole venture and now the Book Company boasts of being an Innovative Publisher of Quality Books by Creative Authors using Diverse Imprints with over 500 books in circulation by over 300 authors.
When reflecting on his success as a pastor, and now a publisher, he often thinks, "I am pleased with who I am and what I have done, but how the hell did I get here!"
David is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and he lives in the Chattanooga area of East Tennessee with his wife and three children.
